I'm glad that course worked for you. The Chesapeake Bay Bridge experience is what I was referring to when I mentioned "white knuckles."

Twenty-five years ago, my husband and I were scheduled to fly to China from DC, so that he could try a case. I was terrified of flying at that time. I heard that US Air had a course on "Fearful Flying" at National Airport, which I promptly signed up for. During the 8-week course, we had a pilot and a psychologist lecture us on how safe it was to fly. For the duration of the course, we received a relaxation tape, which we were to listen to at least once a day (56 days) until we were able to relax and fly. Remember, you can't be relaxed and tense at the same time! It actually worked for me, so that now I love to fly. But, I still won't drive across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge for love or money.
