Don, I think you need to talk to me about my retirement experience. I have never been freer, more productive and creative, or more authentically myself than I have been in retirement. And guess I need to say that I had a really good career that I enjoyed thoroughly and don’t miss in the least.

"retirement" is looked forward to from people who punch the clock or despise their jobs. They say work isn't work if you love what you do. Too bad we need money to live.

My problem with retirement is I am very fortunate to be too healthy for my age. I am truly blessed but I get bored doing the things I am supposed to do during retirement. I am involved in several charity programs here in the Yucatan and I walk the beach most every day but I still feel like there is more I could be doing. I am going to keep looking for that outlet for my energy.

In retirement I've chosen to merge lifelong interests in food & writing to start a newsletter for folks with those interests as well. What I'm passionate about is what I'm passionate about sharing. I detect the say in you, young man!

I agree wholeheartedly with what you've said, Don. But I think the "Retirement" Revolution has already begun! Yes, money can be a problem, but there are creative ways to keep earning it, while receiving whatever retirement benefits you have (SSA and the disappearing pension).

And it's not just the Boomer generation rebelling. My parents' generation enjoyed active retirement years, until, sadly, illnesses set in.

Thanks for another great article.
