I looked at your check list...no debts, few responsibilities and so on...and realized I, too, could check off those boxes. I can probably take some small credit for that, but honestly overall I think we underestimate the power of dumb luck. Recently, a close friend reminded me that my satisfaction might not be the same if I suffered from ill-health as she does. Then a second friend pointed out that I might not be as sanguine about spending some time alone if I lived alone all the time as she does. Sobering.

So true. I cannot discount the impact of dumb luck on my life.
The think the people living in Oz are among the most satisfied, justifiably, with their lives anywhere.

Satisfaction is happiness in a time-release capsule. That has made my day and it's not even 9:00 AM.
