I'm 80. I've always been in shape and have always adjusted my exercises as I've grown older. I quit the Y during COVID and work out at home now. I walk about seven miles/day. (I'm retired so I have time) I no longer do pushups but work with ten pound weights.

I'm really glad that I've taken care of myself.

If you haven't exercised in a while, start taking a morning walk - every day before breakfast. Get a dog. He'll take you out for that walk.

Good for you. A dog does make a good motivator!

I can so relate to this article. I live in a 55+ community and I often feel to fit for these old people activities…..but I am not. I keep trying to do more but trying isn’t enough. I need to get myself off my behind…..I know just walking isn’t enough. Thanks for the nudge.

My Geri-Fit class just had to take a week and a half break because the room was needed for something else. I thought I would exercise on my own, but I didn't. Having an appointment has helped honor a commitment more than I realized. Best wishes getting moving.

This: "Thighs still flaming, I limp to the medicine cabinet, swallow two extra-strength Tylenol capsules and wobble toward my office." Story of my life (or maybe just my old age)!

Must keep moving for living!

We just keep changing, don't we? Ring the bells that still can ring, as Leonard Cohen said.

Yes we do! I like that Cohen comment. I had never heard it. I also enjoy his comment about the cracks being where the light gets in.
