Deepest Gratitude
A follow-up to the Medical Mystery Tour
I am deeply grateful to everyone who responded to my post about my balance and tremor issues with messages of concern and love. I cannot begin to express how touched I am.
The post ended on a bit of a cliffhanger. So here is the update: The medical best-guess consensus is that my difficulties were triggered by dehydration, which then started a chain reaction of woe through my organs.
I had similar symptoms (the balance, not the tremors) once before, 15 years ago. It also happened in January, when my apartment’s radiators were pumping out lots of dry heat. That adds support to the dehydration theory.
So I am plugging in a cold water humidifier at bedtime, and drinking water in high volume. I urge everyone to do the same. Winter tends to dry our bodies out before we realize it.
And I am confident that I still have another 20 years ahead of me, as long as I keep my system well irrigated.
It means everything to know that so many people care. I offer my heart-felt thanks.

Hooray! My mother has experienced this twice, so I’ve seen how painful and confusing this can be. But thankfully, pretty easily correctable! I’m happy to pass along to you the enduring wisdom of the great star of Animal House, John Belushi, who said, “My advice to you, my friend, is to drink heavily.” :)
I'm glad to hear the good news. Even back in Shreveport, running heaters full time will dry us old folks out. It sounds like a logical diagnosis I'm happy to see you're doing better.
